Freedom.
The promise of it drew brave men and women to distant shores to start a new life under a new concept—self-government.
Those patriots taught their children about freedom—what they sacrificed to obtain it and how they must work to maintain it. They knew that freedom will only endure as long as citizens are willing to uphold and defend it.
For nearly two centuries, Hillsdale College has taught generations of students what they must know in order to preserve the legacy of freedom our American ancestors began. Arming the minds of students—on campus, in K-12 classrooms, and in online courses—with knowledge of the timeless truths of human nature is our enduring mission.
But together, we can and we must do more.
We must radiate this education beyond our campus, teaching Americans of all ages—anytime, anywhere—to know that which is good, true, and beautiful.
For that is the path to preserving the blessings of freedom, for another 250 years and beyond.

Freedom for Generations.
Dear Friends,
We live in an age that is dangerous but promising. It is dangerous in its inclination toward tyranny. It is promising in the mass of people who recognize the threat and seek a way back to freedom.
We at the College think that the answer to tyranny is teaching. Since 1844, we have taught generations of students here on our campus the things necessary for the preservation of freedom. We have become the best at that. We have held to it through some of the greatest storms in our nation’s history, including today’s.
Beyond our campus, there are millions more who want to learn from us. We have built the means to teach them, and we want to make those means stronger and to teach even more. We think this is the way to save the country.
And then there are people like you, without whose friendship we could not teach. You learn with us and help us radiate the work of the College everywhere.
Our new capital campaign, the Teaching Freedom for Generations Campaign, is dedicated to teaching all who wish today, and for years to come, what it means to be a free people. We will make that work big in the years ahead, with your help.

With Gratitude
From the College's earliest days when a small group of Hillsdale citizens gathered on a winter night to pledge their support for building a college in their town, to now when our supporters hail from every state and industry, Hillsdale College remains indebted to those who place their trust in our institution. With your partnership we can teach America and ensure learning for generations, beauty for generations, truth for generations, and freedom for generations.
Thank you for standing with Hillsdale and supporting the Teaching Freedom for Generations campaign.
